Community Editor's favourite places on h2g2!

Well it has been another busy week here in the h2g2 offices but at least,
as the weather cheers up, we are now able to go and sit in the sunshine at
lunchtime. Rest assured we are all working hard bringing lots of new and
exciting ideas to h2g2.

Community Choice

• On 11 May 2002, h2g2 Researchers will be congregating at all the
  points of the compass. Well, the north and south ends of the British Isles
  to be precise. If you are near Edinburgh,
  perhaps you would like to meet up with the Scottish Researchers? For those
  of you far, far away, Researchers based in the South of England will be
  meeting in the lovely Berkshire town of Reading.

My 5 Favourite Edited Entries

The Edited Guide continues to grow and grow thanks to the sterling
efforts of our Community. Here are this week's highlights:

• If you have always fancied impressing your friends and relatives
  with your magical abilities, why not start with this brilliant entry on
  Four Great Card Tricks? After all it is only a
  short step from this to sawing your sister in half!

• Farts and Flatulence are tricky subjects,
  beloved of seven-year old boys, for whom life doesn't get much funnier. They
  are, however, rarely mentioned in polite society despite the fact that we
  each produce on average 0.5 to 2.0 litres of gas a day. Read this
  fascinating article to find out more.

• I once went to a wedding where the Best Man managed to insult most of
  the happy couple's relatives in a ten minute period. What a shame he had not
  read Tips for Best Man speeches, a guide to this
  most enjoyable but pitfall-laden of tasks.

• My mate and fellow Editor, Sam always has fantastic recipes that suit
  any occasion. The trouble is they taste so good there is never enough. His
  latest effort is an Incredible Goats Cheese and Onion
  Frittata; just right for a summer supper in the garden with a chilled
  glass of white wine.

• Should I ever be really late for an extrememly important meeting in
  Philadelphia, I will be grateful that I read Jimi X's article on Speeding in Pennsylvania.

Ask h2g2

Ask h2g2 is one of h2g2's busiest pages; a
sort of virtual town square where people can meet discuss and gossip. Here
are some of the best conversations that have been taking place over the last
week:

• What's The Most Embarassing
  Thing That's Ever Happened To You? is, in my opinion, the
  funniest conversation on h2g2. After reading what has happened to some of my
  fellow Community members, I don't feel so bad about accusing Richard
  Whitely, genial host of Channel 4's Countdown, of being my
  father.

• I felt I had to point out the participants of the TV Licence - do you pay? conversation,
  that anyone who felt they could admit to not paying it on a BBC website was
  very brave indeed.

• Like so many others, I have always been intrigued by Why are people ticklish and why do we like Spice? I shall ponder the
  latter when I go out for a curry tonight.

• I am very lucky, I have only one minor allergy. Others are not so lucky. I do
  however have an acute fear of frogs and toads. What are you afraid of?
