I think I read that too, It was in a novel full of short stories, I think. Could be wrong. I don't think they've ever actually addressed it on a show or movie.

Archer's name does appear in the Nemesis movie. In a scene where Picard is with Data looking at a star map with the location and names of some starfleet ships we see that the very last name in the list is one ship called the USS Archer.

Dragging it back to the theme song for a moment, sorry to all those who hate it; A new series started a while back with a remix of the theme. The original was more of a ballad, which I personally did like, I fell it had power to it and really love it. But this one has a back beat and pop score making it sound too modern, designed for a generation that have no time for anything that isn't drum-mixed. Have they re-recorded the vocal line or just remixed it?
Thanks

Yeah, I noticed the new version, not sure exactly what they've done to it. It is better than the old one. I still don't like it though. Mostly, I tend to skip over it, or mute it (because I like the images in the opening sequence). Guess they can't please everyone.
My favourite Star Trek theme is DS9.
I've noticed in the new series it's called 'Star Trek Enterprise' now. Wasn't it just 'Enterprise' in the beginning?
