I do a lot of running and I'm sure it does help - also I go to the gym a lot. However, I can't help thinking that excessive exercise is to be avoided, too. There were days when my low spirits could be put down to being physically-drained and also I had less time for creative pursuits such as writing, which made me even more depressed. This year I'm trying to strike a balance - probably strenuous exercise every other day as opposed to every day is the best solution.
