Your entry made fascinating reading. I have suffered from depression nearly all my life, (into 2nd half of 30's now) so I can completely identify with you and the other researchers who posted previously
I have been to see many different therapists of one sort or another, with little or no benefit unfortunately. I've also been a guinea pig for numerous drug therapies, which either had little or no effect, or, had severe side-effects, so now I don't take any drugs for it.
I'm soldiering on though as I've just started seeing a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist (CBT). I noticed in your entry you said that they can really help. I truly hope so !
I've heard too that St John's Wort is worth trying, and that a lot of people gain real benefits from taking it. How expensive is it? The reason I ask is because I'm on Social Security Benefits, so it *has to be cheap enough*.
I realise it is some time since your entry was completed, but I thought I should let you know that your Ultrasis link doesn't work any more. When I tried it, it came up that the site didn't exist any more,
I truly hope you keep well, and salute you for being brave enough to write an entry on such a touchy subject.
