It would be pretty timely to update this to be honest, it appears that in the last 18 months the 'movement' such as it is (and it's '6th Generation' counterpart) seems to have ended - and a new Chinese cinema has begun to emerge - a reaction to the restructing of the film industry, the need for studios to court outside investment and the semi-absorbtion of the Hong Kong industry.
Thois could really do with updating.

I was pleased to see this back on the Front Page as well.
