A Conversation for 'Threads' and Nuclear War

This film will always stick in my head, I hope one day to pick up a copy. Scared the hell out of me when I first saw it.
It reminded me of the book The Third World War by Sir John Hackett, almost too real.
Anyone remember what the crap America version of this was called ?

The American 'version' - though it really bears no comparison - was called 'The Day After'. You can now get 'Threads' on VHS and DVD (should you really want to remind yourself just how terrifying/brilliant it was).

Sounds to me very much like the BBC's version of Robert O'Brien's book 'Z for Zachariah' (which changed certain details about the original book quite a lot). No idea if you can get it though, but I'm pretty sure that's what it is.
