For what it's worth, the original version
of that song was made popular by the
Kingston Trio.
This is a very useful article, especially for
newcomers (students, etc.) to Boston. I
would love to have seen something
comparable thirty years ago, when I
first arrived in the Hub, but I got it
figured out.

Hey, buddy, the Kingston Trio version wasn't the *original* version. It's an old campaign song, if you hadn't noticed from the lyrics. Originally a barbershop quartet.
