Hi Tango,

I like the entries title and the writing you have done already. It is work in progress, but I think for a subject as useful as this your approach is a little biased towards the Uni Project youre doing.

Doppler is verry useful and is a much wider amount subject. It could be nice iff you mentioned also a bit about the way doppler effect is used to mesure directions and distances, like in a radar.

Also, something a bit closer to your area of interest might be the low-earth orbit (LEO) satellites and the problems doppler effect have on them.

One last thing, there's a Uni Project on Radars. Check if they have an article on Doppler, or maybe some cross references and some links between the projects might be nice.

Hi smiley - smiley

There's an entry about the same topic: A614116 - Universal Red Shift, which is in Peer Review right now. You might want to join forces there!

The Radar project doesn't have a 'Doppler' entry yet, but I'm going to write one because there's much to be said when it comes to MPRF and HPRF radars.

I have decided to change the title to: Doppler Effect in Reference to Stars. I have done this because I have little to no knowledge of other uses of the effect.

Thankyou for you comments, they are apprecieted. smiley - smiley

You've got the bit about sound waves backwards:

'In sound this makes something moveing towards you sound lower, and something moveing away, higher...'

When in fact it should read:

'In sound this makes something moving towards you sound higher, and something moving away, lower...'

That was a mistake, admit it. Subs make typos. smiley - winkeye

John the gardener says, "Free Tibet!"

Very wise. A lot of people think it's easy to produce Sub-standard work. smiley - winkeye
