Who do the pictures on the picture cards in the basic common U>K> playing cards represent. I've spent many years considering this and I've faced 2 problems. Suggestions that lack credibility and suggestions that they represent no one. But I feel they do but it may be information that is forgotten.
For example, if you look at the king of diamonds, it is clearly Charles I the king who was beheaded.
