Interesting there's a rather amusingly named village of Fingringhoe in Essex who's name comes from being a 'hoe' or ridge of land, on a finger into the estuary of the Colne.

Two in one - brilliant!
Reminds me of Torpenhow, where each of 'tor', 'pen' and 'how' means 'hill'. (see A19773499)
