Two names in one?

Interesting there's a rather amusingly named village of Fingringhoe in Essex who's name comes from being a 'hoe' or ridge of land, on a finger into the estuary of the Colne.

Hi Dave, and welcome to h2g2 smiley - smiley

Two in one - brilliant!

Reminds me of Torpenhow, where each of 'tor', 'pen' and 'how' means 'hill'. (see A19773499)

Let's see how many more coastal doubles people can find!

smiley - cheers Icy
