Again, you'd have to dub the voice. SHe *really needs* to be English, preferably from the South. Do we have enough budget to get Liz Hurley to bleach her hair...?

*wrinkles nose* i can't see her as a blonde... but her voice is good....

As much as I love Liz Hurley, I almost think they'd need someone a little bit younger -- Trillian is supposed to be fresh out of grad school, which would probably peg her as mid to late twenties.
And if Disney's doing it, I rather doubt they're sticking to all British actors -- Douglas Adams doesn't have near the pull of JK Rowling (the Harry Potter author).

Actually, the series "Lexx" has a different actress playing the Eva Habermann role.
Maybe they don't show them yet where you are?

Why not Xenia Seeberg? Anyway, speaking of Eva Habermann,
I was watching (rather out of character for me) "Married...With
Children", and I was thinking how much Christina Applegate
looked like Eva Habermann in this particular episode. Would
Christina Applegate make a good Trillian? I always thought
Trillian and Zaphod had sort of an American attitude, anyway....
....How about Jerry Seinfeld as Zaphod?
....If we want to go that far, then the whole "Seinfeld" cast could be
in the movie. I remember visiting a humour website with a feature
called "You Can't Do That on 'Star Trek'", where people would do
"crossover episodes", usually with an interestingly doctored picture,
with "Star Trek" and other shows, or comics, or things "Star Trek"
fans might like. So if we crossed HHGTTG with "Seinfeld", we might
get:
Jerry Seinfeld as Zaphod Beeblebrox
Jason Alexander as Arthur Dent
Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Trillian
Michael Richards as Slartibartfast
Stephen Furst (or whoever it is who plays Newman) as one of the cops
in the shootout scene
I'm probably thinking that last one because he plays a cop on
"Third Rock from the Sun".
Okay, how about a "Third Rock from the Sun" crossover cast?
Or we could just get back to the serious business of casting a movie
that's probably already filming?

Fine - my vote for Trillain would have to go to Lisa Faulkner then. Well, if it has to be an English actress, why not an incredibly goodlooking one? And if the American "theme" is adopted SMG would just have to do...

SMG just can't deliver convincing sarcasm - if we steal cast from "Buffy", it has to be Alyson Hannigan!

Maybe you're right... And probably a really strong actor for Zaphod - it can't be easy acting with 2 heads... Arther needs to be somebody smallish and lost looking. This is a bit difficult isn't it?

I always sort of pictured Arthur as a British Bob Newhart. If you've
ever seen "Newhart" (he always seems to name the shows "Bob"
or "Newhart" or "The Bob Newhart Show"; "Newhart" is the one where
he plays a Vermont innkeeper surrounded by an odd lot of locals, or at
least a lot of odd locals), you see what I mean. If we're going American,
I'd pick him, except I think he's probably old for the part. If we had to put
him in it, how about as Slartibartfast, or the voice of one of the mice? (He's
done that for Disney at least twice before, you know.)

Bob Newhart was too docile to be Arthur Dent. Dependign on how far we're going, Arthur eventually goes crazy. Bob Newhart would never go crazy. How about Steve Martin? He could be a funny Arthur Dent. He was HILARIOUS in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. BTW, I think Wayne Knight is the name of the guy who played Newman.

You guys seem to think Trillian is British. If memory serves me right, somewhere in "Mostly Harmless" it says she's American, who happens to be living in Britian. Even the HHGTTG TV show (a video of which I rented the other day) had Trillian speaking without a British accent.
In which case, an American actress is more appropriate. No one immediately comes to my mind to play her, but there you go.
