When stuck in an alternate reality, do not go meet yourself. It will probably end quite badly for you if your alternate has a worse life than yours as the alternate may take you life away. Also, you don't want to depress yourself if your alternate has a better life. Just stay away unless you need a blood transfusion or body part replacement.
