Bands too tight?

I was surprised to see it said that too-tight bands with too-large cups was common - by far the most common mistake I've observed made by big-boobed women is to have too large a back size and too small a cup size.
I think is is because in the olden days (things have been better int he last 5 years or so) you could only buy bras up to a DD cup on the highstreet, and if you did manage to find anything bigger in a specialist shop it would be ugly. As a result people ended up with as big a back size as they needed to get the DD to go on.
Oh the joy of finally getting a well-fitting bra!
