Unfortunately due to the out break of Foot and Mouth in the United Kingdom, Dunluce Castle and the Giant's Causeway are like any country based National Trust properties in Northern Ireland shut to the general public. I will let you know when they re-open.

Actually I have no idea, as I'm now over in Scotland.
Sorry that's only a sad face as I'm not able to answer the question, I'm happy to be in Scotland as FC is beside me every day, but I've no idea what is going on back home. Knowing how well foot and mouth was kept down there I suspect it is open again, but check with the Northern Irish Tourist Board or the National Trust who own it first.

Not the latest of data, but didn't want anyone to miss out. Hoof and Mouth Disease only kept me off the Aberdeen farms in Scotland, and out of farms/pastures in Ireland. I did get sprayed a lot, though.
-Dunluce was closed in Jun 2001 due to reconstruction of access to the castle. But don't fail to stop by anyway. To me, it the most intriguing and picturesque castle ruin in all of Scotland and Ireland.
I got spectacular photos.
-At Carrick-a-Rede the signs indicated it was open, but when you walked down a quarter-of-a-mile or so to the rope bridge, a locked iron-barred gate blocked your access. I must add though, the walk and views getting to the gate were well worth the effort. Splendid beyond awesome!
-The Giant's Causeway was fully open, and running 4 buses to the main site. A spectacular experience, but do be alert for renegade waves that sometimes crash upon the basalt cliffs, as they can wash you away! It nearly happened to some unaware guys while I was there.
Visit Anyway !!!

Hey researcher 200486.
Thanks for keeping us all updated. I'll be back over there in September for my birthday, though maybe not to Dunluce.
