Ow, this really made me wince when I read it...I had my ears pierced when I was about five, but since then I've steadfastly refused to let anyone make any holes in me anywhere...I'm just a coward and I don't like pain! Plus the amount of people I've seen with weeping navels, swollen tongues, etc, is enough to put the maddest people off!!

-stoop.

It's inevitable that a tongue will swell after being pierced. It is a living organ with a wound, after all :D

Hi all

I've had my tongue done twice. The first time I thought "do it last thing at night, it'll give it time to rest overnight". Woke up the next morning with it sooo swollen and painful, didn't eat properly for three days smiley - sadface After a couple of years, decided to get another tongue pierce, for the fun or it, I'd never seen anyone with two tongue pierces before. smiley - wow.

This time I had it done first thing in the morning, my partner did it before he went to work. I spent the day around town, it was summer and I had an ice cream. By the end of the day it hadn't swollen and I had a solid meal as usual. This is just my experience.
