h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I've just returned from hospital after having a dental abcess drained, and I was looking for a comparison along the lines of 'I haven't had so much fun since...' I was going to go with 'since the dog had his operation', but crowdsurfing sounds like a contender.

PS Ouch.

Wrong! Crowdsurfing is brilliant! First tried it at Reading '94, to a band called 'Helmet', possibly one of the loudest, bassy-ist bands there that year.One thing I will say, is for the crowdsurfer not to wear steel toecapped boots: As I was was surfing over the moshpit, my boots were flying around, and quite possibly booting crowdsurfees in the head. It honestly didn't occur to me until I went over, possibly my third or fourth pass, as someone grabbed me as I went passed and started punching my head as hard and as often as they could before I was out of range; although some people do things like that for no reason, I figured it must be something that I had done.....

Well I'm glad you enjoyed it Freddie, but I can't say that your description attracts me. I'm not sure I like the sound of: . I've always tended to regard that sort of behaviour as not altogether reasonable. I mean, really - you went to a band called Helmet - you would have thought that if some bozo was going to headbutt you on the foot he'd have worn one!

Call me Mr Stroppy if you like, but I am inclined to react with some violence towards peole who attempt to punch my head.

Still, whatever lights your candle - I can't see me ever wanting to crowdsurf myself, but if it makes you feel good - go for it!

PS Do you still have that orange cat?

It was fun at the time. By the time I realised what was happening I was too far away. I was a bit surprised that someone would do it, but to be honest, I had had a few sherbets by then, and didn't really feel it.
The Fat Orange One? *Grin* I had him a while back, but he s**t in my shoes one time too many......
