...most of the time.
Will it help me on a Friday night when I cant even remember my own name, let alone where the fish I am?
Perhaps pubs should issue GPS thingies with your tenth pint?

You just have to set a waypoint when you leave your house for a quick pint at the pub.
Once you lost your sense of orientation (that usually happens shortly before the loss of your mother-tongue), all you have to do is just follow the directions of your little thingie.
Even better is to wear a little tag around your neck, containing some small change and a little note saying "My name is [Insert name here] , I live at [insert adress here], and I'm drunk. Please place me in a taxi and hand that small change to the driver."
Oh, and depending on how you love to spend your evenings: one or two 'precautions against unwanted results of wanted physical exercises' might be of some value .

Hello,
I have a fake GPS program for my Palm Pilot (no GPS module attached). It just draws a big X on the screen and prints "You are here" below it.
Yours,
Jake

Ausnahmsweise, wie üblich (Consistently inconsistent) Posted Apr 15, 2001
I used to have a sweat shirt (I think it was from Hauser - the Munich expedition company) that had a cartoon of a trecker. He was leaning against a signpost that read "You are located exactly over the centre of the earth".
Great article. I had read the referenced Trimble article some time ago.
Key: Complain about this post
