I recommend The Mandolin Album, by Simon Mayor, for an excellent range of traditional, classical and modern mandolin music. Acoustic Records, ref. CDACS012. Released in 1990, but should still be available. Failing that, anything by Simon Mayor will be excellent, and he tours quite a lot as well, playing smaller venues and folk clubs.
