I am in the Technical Theater class, and as part of that, we have work on the set for a number of hours for each play/musical. I can tell you that not many (if any) of thte Tech. crew wear all black, they usually wear normal scruffy clothes (especially if they're painting.

well, all i can say is that a technical theatre class and the actual STAGE CREW for the play/musical are different groups. the class doesn't have to wear black, but the crew should if they want to be professional. not all places do this, however. but MOST do.

Um, in my school, if you enroll in the technical theater class, you have the oppitunity to be on the stage crew. The stage crew are also in the classes.

right, i get that... it's the same at my school. all i'm saying is that....
argh. never mind.
what i'm saying is that stage crews wear black, but there are exceptions to every rule. *shrug*

It's true, our crew (admittedly not theatre, mostly bands/nightclub/other work but hey) wear black, not because they have to (it's an unpaid gig) but because it's the expected thing...the permanently attached cup of coffee and ciggy is different however, they're pretty much necessities

YOU have Theatre Tech CLASSES??? WOW, that would be an easy mark if I was afforded that opportunity. Our Tech Crew is entirely volunteer, and unpaid, might I add, and I would LOVE to have a Theatre Tech Class... By the by, our entire crew wears blacks and steels.... and that is 24/7
I am sure that our current TD has all black undergarments too....what a hottie.
Is it just me, or are most female technicians extremely attractive, or is it just that the males are anti-social enough to consider females an endangered species?

Nope. I knew several in high school that were greatly unattractive. But for every one of them, there was one who fits your description. So it seems to be a 50/50 thing.
Maybe it's the female techies *in charge* who are the hotties.

You know what... i think it's something about a woman who can equalize sound on the fly, counter-weight a 1200 lb stage piece on the fly deck, program cyc chases for hours on end, and still smell good. That, i think, is the selling point.
Key: Complain about this post
