I mentioned that some months before:
That reminds me of working for a Jazz Festival, when you get stage plans, technical riders, etc. too late, if at all. You have to improvise all the time (That's why they call it Jazz Festival: Improvised music, performed under improvised circumstances)
Good article!!
Don't forget the black colour of all the drinks: and !

lol!!!
i don't think that has as much to do with being dark as it does with their high caffeine content!!!

Yup, sounds about right, i'm crew for the Union at Heriot Watt uni, most of what we do is bodge stuff (i.e fix it on the quick and dirty) when things go horribly "Pete Tong", mainly when stuff breaks, bands show up with kit 5 minutes before the venue opens and want to take half an hour setting up and another half an hour soundchecking....
Caffeine is the only thing that keeps us alive.

I must once again draw on the exhaustive run of Pirates of Penzance that we did at my HS.... we often pulled 17 hour days, and the cola intake was through the roof...and by the way, i gotta know....is it preferable to drink Pepsi or Coca-Cola..... My crew stands by Coke in a diehard fashion, and I want to know some other opinions.

My crews in high school were always very Dr. Pepper. Myself, I like Pepsi over coke, but if I had my druthers, I'd drink Jolt cola until it killed me. They don't make the stuff anymore, but it used to have more than twice the caffeine of regular soda.

Here in Canada, Jolt Cola is still in production, but we use it (at school at least) like most people use beer....with the utmost respect. There is one new drink that has us all intrigued, and that is a drink called Bawls. It has guarana in it, which is basically organic caffeine. It has a disclaimer on the bottle, warning of potential ulceration of the stomach if a bottle (500 mL) is consumed in under 1 minute....it's yummy

I was Stage Manager for a secondary school prodution of Peter Pan, and the stage crew didn't even get a script until 3 rehearsals before the performance. It was havoc - still can't believe I actually enjoyed it
