Yep - I also when heard the name Billie Piper, my first reaction was "Who?" but I guess that's a good sign. But then, I've not really watched anything much on television for a while. Not even a second of Hell's Kitchen. Mind you, I did see the last ever episode of "Friends" with my girlfriend. I wasn't that impressed with the last series as it had very few jokes and whenever anyone did anything the audience kept screaming, which ruins it, I think. Oh well...

Tomorrow is June. On Friday it'll be exactly 1 year before my wedding!

Well the weathers nice, we had last week off from work so I've been doing a lot with my dalek, still got lots more to do.

My mum and dad have bought a camper van, but they have to wait a couple of weeks to get it. My dad now having been made redundant, he's been doing a few different jobs nothing permant as yet.

Did you ever watch the X-Files?, its showing ona channel on sky so we've been watching, its the 3rd or 4th season I'd guess, my wife and mum and myself stopped watching it about the same time, keep meaing to have a look on the internet to find out what happened in the end....

Hows things, the family, the wife to be?.

I've almost recovered after spending last weekend at the Isle fo Wight Festival, where I saw The Who, David Bowie, Manic Street Preachers, The Stereophonics, The Charlatons and various others. Growing up on the Isle of Wight I always heard how the festivals in 1968-1970 were the pinnacle of musical achievement, and so have always wanted to attend one, especially as very few bands or famous people appear on the Isle of Wight, and so I never went to concerts until last year. So I went, and thoroughly enjoyed it ,and got quite sunburnt as the weather was sunny non-stop.

I watched the first few series of the X Files, but stopped watching when it went silly, with Mulder, or was it Scully?, kidnapped and Scully pregnant etc... I saw the film, but that was pretty much my last attempt to keep up with what was going on. Still, until it became very repetitive with the conspiracy of the week approach to the plot, I thought it was very enjoyable, and indeed atmospheric.

My fiance and I are okay, working out wedding insurance and have finalised the invitations list. Still a lot to do, and under a year now to get it all sorted out.

So, what make of camper van is it? I don't suppose its a Romahome, as I had a summer job a few years back making window latches for their Hy/Lo, Duo and Hi-Top models.

Yeah I got fed up with the X-files for the same reason, each week mulder would find existance of aliens and each week scully wouldn't believe it.

We've been watching it for the last couple of weeks or so and I'm getting a little fed up again.

Mum and dad didn't get their camper van in the end, the insurance was too high, I don't think they thought it out too well. My dads redundancy money was buring a hole in their pocket, I suspect.

Do you listen to the Big Finish doctor who Cd's?, can't remember if I've asked before. But I took advantage of thier summer sale to buy, amongst other CDs, the John Nathan-Turner and Nicholas Courtney memoirs CD's, and the Paul mcGann interview DVD, not listened to them yet though.

It was definately a good experience to see them live. I'd never been to a festival before, and grwoing up on the Isle of Wight where we tend not to have any big names come (we don't have any stadiums), it felt like too good an opportunity to miss. Many of the other acts blurred into each other, but it was a warm weekend, it didn't rain, and I saw classic acts give great performances. It was also surprisingly friendly, and not too crowded. Overall, it was a good weekend - I'm glad I went.

I think it's been about 5 years since I last watched an episode of the X Files. It seems to have been forgotten very quickly. This week I was very excited that Blake's 7 Series 2 was going to be out on DVD, rushed out to HMV and found out that its release has been postponed until October. I've also been watching teh first series of Star Trek: The Next Generation (I'm getting that magazine collection at the moment as it isn't too expensive), and that seems strange how odd, and subtly different to what it became, it is.

I haven't got any of the Big Finish CDs. Not because I don't want, but for the same reasons I don't get the Doctor Who books. I don't have the money, I don't have that much time to listen to them, and the biggest problem - if I bought them, where would I put them? As we're living in a fairly small space, we don't have any room to put anything. In this consumerist society where people are encouraged to buy more and more, yet live in smaller and smaller spaces such as flats and appartments, it makes you wonder when the 2 are going to collide. The result for me is that I don't have any room for anything - if I became a millionnaire I'd need to buy a large house (you can get a 60 bedroom hotel for around £600,000 on the Isle of Wight, something like that will do) just to put everything in. I'd spend more money on bookcases, I think, and shelves than cars, flash gadgets and holidays... Oh well...

I saw a bit of glastonberry (SP?), Ok I was a bit sleepy though.

Well I'm still watching the x-files but something big happends then it all goes back to how it was and carries on. and every episdoe scully gives the sceintific explanation and mulder gives the paranormal explanation and he's right everytime, gets a little tiresome.

Bought the blakes 7 s1 dvds, mine had the fault but i phoned up and the corrected version has a yellow sticker on the back which mine has, it playes fine on my Pc but the fault people say it has does happen on my actual dvd player....

I know the thing about space, I have 100 dw related cds/tapes, loads of videos and dvds, andf thgen there's all the other stuff...

My DVD has the fault of jumping forward a chapter. Trouble is, I've seen the episodes of Blake's 7 on UK Gold often enough now to not mind too much, as it doesn't really spoil the plot and I can press rewind. It is annoying, especially considering I spent good money on the boxset, but not one I'm too bothered about.

Lately I've been watching "Sharpe", one of the few programmes on ITV that I actually thought was quite good. Some of the episodes had a real classic film quality, whereas others were merely brilliant. I've also started reading the books, which are good and hookable, even if Bernard Cornwell isn't the best author in the world, he certainly tries hard.

Never saw sharpe, and only seen blakes 7 once when it was shown first on UKgold, I have about 5 videos though, Oh and the first series was shown on bbc2 a couple of years ago but this is the first time for a while. I also got a copy of the two radio plays the did, listened to the first not bad, but not great either. not heard the second yet.

Just read the time machine, not bad, oinly a little different from the first film. but it got me in the mood, so i watched journey to the centre of the earth, see it before, not bad, want to watch the war lords of atlantis now though.

I haven't heard the radio plays. As with the Doctor Who audios, I'd like to hear them, but don't have the money to spend on it.

At the moment I'm about to have a week off work to go down to the Island to arrange more wedding plans, and to organise a removals van as my mum's moving house and a lot of what I own is still in her old house that she is selling. So I have to rescue it, and as I only have a room to live in and no room in that, put it in storage until we get a bigger place.

Incidently, I've been told taht my 100th Edited Article is going to be on h2g2's front page over the weekend - its about Yorkshire's castles.

so hows things?, life is pretty much the same with me. we had two weeks off work - the same two week it rained almost non stop, managed to piant my garage though, badly!.

I've not been up to much lately - same old life. Changed jobs at work, but now they've decided they want me back in the old job, but only until October when the job is moving to Harrogate, even though no-one in Harrogate is trained to do it... I feel like a yo-yo ata work as I never know what job they'll want me to do next.

I'm hoping to go to Liverpool tomorrow - I plan to do the Beatles story, Cavern and all the other tourist Beatle places, so if I go, I'll tell you all about it.
