I think a really interesting question is, could God destroy himself?

>>could God destroy himself?<<
Why would God *want* to destroy Godself? God cannot do what is logically impossible! If God is the only *real* (uncreated) being, as C S Lewis expresses it in his books, then the answer is, probably not, but once again, the question is, why would God want to? God creates, not destroys!

Ahem. I think I must agree to differ. For example. The revelations. Plenty of god's destruction in there.

God has no fear, if he did he wouldnt be omnipotent, so ceasing to exist isnt something he'd fear. He'd want to do it because its the only challenge there is for him. but you'd have to ask the question if he knows everything then he could look into the future and see if he succeeded in destroying himself? or would he be able to see the future without him in it? Are we God's debris?

By definition, a god is omniescent (know's everything). Therefore a god would know if it was possibe, and how, to destroy itself.

Yes, but I must reiterate that I cannot think *why* God would want tro, or choose to destroy Godself? God has bound Godself to certain promises which would be void in the event of such destruction!

Why would god want to create us?

Researcher 235202 Posted Jul 21, 2003
But how do you destroy and omnipotent being? and if he can be destroyed surely the being is not omnipotent...
In response to "why would God want to create us?", this theory presents an answer (although it seems far fetched i'll admit that myself). The only challenge there is for an all knowing all powerful God is can i destroy myself? and maybe we are the answer to this question, maybe we are what is left from God's attempt at destroying himself...
Its an interesting theory.

Its a good point. However I feel the concept of God is completely irrational. And where does Satan come into God's sucicidal tendancies?
