Ah, well, I see...I think. You see, I've never even heard of a Hitchiker's radio program, so a continuation of the series would be (excuse the pun) a totally alien concept.
In fact, where I come from, bad Hawaiian pop dominates the airwaves. It's REALLY BAD. One song goes like this: "I've got fish and poi, I'm a big boy, Lomi salmon (something, something) extra large lilikoi, squid and chicken luau, don't forget the lau lau, beef and tripe stew just to name a few, oh yeah!" And it's sung in a falsetto voice by a roughly 300 pound hawaiian guy in a pareo, accompanied by ukulele!!! And this is a serious song, not a parody!!! (And with the huge population of Hawaiian students at my college I still can't escape it. *sob*) Is there someplace I can listen to it online? (The radio program, not the bad hawaiian pop, of course.)

Anyway, has anyone heard about the Myst III movie trailer? (Cenchrea wishes to add that it will be a trailer shown at a movie theater advertizing the game, not the other way around) It's supposed to be out sometime febuary-ish. Anyone know what movie it'll be shown with??
It might be our only chance to see Myst on a 20 ft. tall screen!

Isn't Hannibal, the sequel to Silence of the Lambs, supposed to be coming out next month?

Considering that the Myst series prides itself on being non-violent, I would think that film unlikely as an option for the trailer.
Anyone know what PG-and-under movies are headed to theaters???

Well, I know for a fact that Star Wars II is coming out soon, as well as Final Fantasy. Well, I know that Star Wars is rated PG, but I'm not sure about Final Fantasy, which I /am/, however, sure is not rated R. Depriving fans of it with /that/ restriction is about as likely as being able to build a microchip with matchsticks.

Star Wars II is coming out next year... way too late to be running a trailer for a game scheduled to debut in a few months. (Might as well run it with the new LOTR movie!) Final Fantasy? Never played the game, but it would be a fantastically sensible one to run the trailer on! When does it come out?

I dunno. Fall, I think.
And I've heard from contradictory sources that Star Wars II is simultaneously scheduled for 2001 and 2002. 
And just so you'll know, there's no continuity between any of the Final Fantasy games, except the fact that every single one of them has at least one airship, and all the most recent ones have Chocobos and Moogles. 
This means that the creators start completely over whenever they make a new FF game, and except for one scene that looks like at one point in FF7, there's nothing in the FF movie from any of the games.

That seems like a good idea, keeping the title of FF in mind. It would make a great deal of less sense (uh, excuse me, haven't had my coffee yet...) to keep the same characters of a previous final fantasy to make a sequel. I've seen some screenshots from the game (of the story-telling sequences, I'd assume)... very impressive. Will the movie be live action or CG?
(Still won't be in time for Myst trailer, though...)

Completely in CG. And it makes Toy Story 2 look like Tron.
