A Conversation for Coffee in Spain
What do you do with the churros?

I'm going to live in Spain soon. I've read about "coffee and churros" in guide books and find it quite appealing, but I wouldn't like to be embarrased by getting it all wrong in a public place. Who can tell me what to ask for; what to expect to be put in front of me; and what to do with it (it sounds like it could be quite messy)?

More typical in Spain is "Chocolate con churros," replacing the cup of coffee with a hot chocolate one. They serve you a cup of coffee, hot chocolate or whatever you want, and a bunch of "churros" (usually half a dozen). You can eat it the way you like the most, but usually we dunk the churro in the coffee, hot chocolate, etc. and eat it.
You should also order a "chocolate con porras," which are greater than churros.
