One thing I suggest though is to keep a vial of Tea Tree Oil with you. Tea Tree oil has anti-viral, anti-bacterial, and anti-fugal properties that's good for use on many wounds that one may get while travelling. I occasionally use it on my feet (when I'm get a chance to sit around with my shoes off so my feet can breathe of course) to help keep such things as athlete's foot away.

Nowhere do you recommend salt tablets. My husband has been taking groups of 18-year-olds to Sorrento (hardly very far) for over 10 years now and has had a case where a girl collapsed because of the heat and was cured with salt tablets. Since then, he has always had some tablets with him, but is now forewarned and can make sure that the kids drink plenty and replenish their salt and liquids.
