With regards to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, it all started for me just shortly after So Long and Thanks For All the Fish came out. As Probability would have it, the books happened to come to me in reverse order my first time reading them through and after reading each one I would promptly lose it somehow. It was a couple years after reading them that I was able to get all four books at the same time and read them through in proper order. Since then I've read all of the books countless times, and in many states of mind, and have found them to have a profound impact on my life.
I got my first towel on my way out the door when as I left my home of Umatilla, OR to go to the Army. Although I wasn't able to keep them with me, my Guide and my Towel waited patiently through Basic Training and A.I.T. to be rejoined with me. From then it went over with me to my station in Germany, and the adventures I had there. I have never lost it and have travelled a great deal with it here in the states since my discharge. It's been an excellent pillow, a usable (although small) blanket, and most importantly a loayal companion through the years. I've had it for 11 years now. A lovely tanish-yellow Towel it is, with random stains here and there, as well as some embroidery I've done.
About two years ago my Towel found it's mate. Don't ask me which is the husband, and which the wife. Who can tell with Towels? It's a simple black towel, but every bit as good as my original Towel. At first I was worried that they might conflict for my attention, but actually they've gotten along really well.
Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the Hitchhiker's Guide, preferably a compilation of all five books similar to The Ultimate Hitchhiker's Guide (leatherbound would be nice, but not necessary), in Esperanto? If so, PLEASE leave me some information. Dankon! A195879
