A Conversation for Def Leppard - the Band

It seems to me that maybe the band isn't receiving the promotional support they used to. I've liked them since about Pyromania, didn't get to see them live tho until Hysteria. After that I remember hearing a few songs off of the following album, then......nothing. It wasn't until I met my husband in '98 that I discovered they were still around and recording. The first time I heard the "Slang" CD (sometime last year) I thought it was great. I couldn't believe the album bombed. Then I realized that it had taken me several years to even find out about the release. If their work isn't reaching the fans, then of course sales will suffer.
Euphoria btw, great CD. Awesome concert too. I was hesitant to go at first, but my! I had forgotten how much fun that is!! Super show, great songs, can't wait to see what's next for them.
It would be nice if someone would promote them tho. So I could hear about any new releases in a timely manner. Actually, they've already stopped playing the new stuff on the radio. 80's stations occasionally play some of their old stuff, but you hear something off the new album only about once a month. I don't think I've heard anything in longer than that.

Sadly the pop-rock/Hair Metal burst over 10 years ago, and a band like Def Leppard will have been deeply unfashionable for most of that time. Seeing how rock coming back into fashion again slowly, though, I wouldn't be surprised if you start seeing more of Leppard knocking around...
