This is a really cool article, very informative
I've been a fan since my brother introduced me to their music when i was about 10 and I finally got to see them live when they returned to Sheffield last year and they were absolutely awesome.

Thanks for writing that. I have (sort of) followed them since we all shone our headlights on them in a field in Sheffield....way back when.
Great Article.

It was a great article, I meant to tell you ages ago when I first read it but BT cut me off and I couldn't find it again
*looks confused*
Shone your headlights on them?
*looks more confused*
You found an accessible field in Sheffield?
Great Article.

It was years and years ago. Some kind of school thing, I think (can't remember the details from this distance at my great age )
My uncle's band and Def Leppard and one or two other bands were playing in this field for some reason (could have been a playing field). No lights etc, or maybe the generator stopped working or something, anyway there were only a few people there and most had come in cars, so we used the headlights as stage lights.
Plenty of fields in Sheffield (if you know where to look )

Your school took you to see Def Leppard? The nearest we ever got was the "Music for Youth" concert
These fields in Sheffield? Have you seen them recently? I just ask as...well unless you mean on the outskirts of Sheffield I've never found any which look safe enough to enter

OK. I concede. I was fibbing. The only "field" in Sheffield that is anywhere near safe to go in is the Park at Hillsborough. Oh, and Concorde park - although I wouldn't go there alone at night. And the pitch at Hillsborough - because there isn't anything breathing within about 1,000 metres of it.
The school didn't take us anywhere (I didn't go to school in Sheffield) but the gig was in the open air somewhere. Could have been Concorde park now I come to think of it.
My parents live in an outskirt of the city, and there were some nice fields there (Oughtibridge) but they're just about full of "executive homes" now, so I think they'll move soon.

You're claiming the park in Hillsborough as safe? Mmmhmmm I supppose there's Graves Park although that's not so much of a field as a big 'thing'...although it does have piglets and ducks which is obviously going to work in it's favour...
Where about's is concorde park? I don't think I've ever been there.
Is that in Oughtibridge as that'd explain why I've not seen it as I've only ever driven through there although I must confess to liking the name
And as for the Owls stadium you are being a bit harsh me thinks, I seem to recall there's a large nest of pigeons above one of the stands

I've never had any problems in Hillsborough park..... nor even Graves Park. And there used to be a bit of grass and a duck pond in Firth Park (long, long ago)
Concorde park is in between Shiregreen and Wincobank (I think) It's pretty wild and wooly. you can see the cool cooling towers, the gasthings and the Lee plant from there. And Wooley Wood. Oughtibridge is quite a way out of town, which explains the fields.
Regarding the Owls: I don't think we can be too harsh. They deserve all they get now. I have stuck by them for about 36 years (ie. since birth) and now they have p****d me right off! Still, I secretly follow them, and will be happy if they escape further relegation. Next time I go I'll take pigeon food. Give me something to look at.

Sho - that gig you described is also described in a book I have. If you are not telling porkies then you attended Def Leppard's first (or maybe second) gig. If you ain't telling porkies, then respect!
