I wased an entire semester of college on this game. I missed more classes because of it than I can remember. I don't know if I enjoyed the time spent on it. It was an addiction......and now I'm hooked on FF9.

I hear you!
I spent 67 hours on FFVIII, before I decided to start over because I found out I didn't 'draw' Siren right at the beginning. Then I played for another 100 hours.... and my memory card fried! I just refused to start over.

I'm having a serious think before buying FF9.

Those games are far to addictive! smiley - smiley

I had the same damn problem with FF8. I never finished it. It's collecting dust in by bookcase.

The Fallen Angel (bloke form Altair Prime wishes to meet single female from Achenar 6d apply within)

I Cannot beleave it Final Fantasy 8 took me a month (compared to the 6 months of the previous incarnation) and i thaught the game was good. but compared to the excelence of final fantasy 7 it didnt come close. the only reason why i would play the game again is to get all the cards. (i finished the 1st time round with just 38!) Even though the ending is stunning aloong with the music and graphical effects the game just didnt quite cut the mustard compared to ff7. I live in England and hence FF9 dosent come out over here until after chrismas (so I know what im spending my christmas money on) not unless you can understan japanise (altarian, delta pavonian and even sirrian but not japanise) i thaught the game was easy and the final bosses didnt have nearly the style of sephiroth n e way thats all i have to gripe about. Goodbye

Actually I find the story and the graphics in 8 to be far superior to 7, it's just that the combat system is so tedious!!!!!! It is far too reliant on summons that are beautiful, but long and repetitive and you can't skip them. Even though the movies in 9 look great I have a serious problem with the fact that they have returned to the superdeformed characters after having finally grown out of that in 8, and the fact that one of the main characters is Orco from He-Man.

Well, it's probably easier to get away with taking a character from He-Man than it was to incorporate Mr. T into FF7... smiley - smiley

Well, Fallen... you probably weren't addicted to FF7, so it took 6 months. It was during those 6 month that your addiction took hold and when you played FF8 you couldn't get enough.

Oh belive me I was an addict. i just didnt get the how to play the game until i had almost compleated it. and i raced off around the world to try and unlock many of its secrets. FF8 was addictive but it was also very easy and the story just didnt cut the mustard like FF7's story did.

The Iron Maiden

Heh, I spent a good lot of time of my GCSEs playing FF7. Couldn't ficus at all in science lessons because I was preoccupied with my first burnthrough of that game. Classic. And nothing's really changed - I'm failing my A-levels because of a preoccupation with music! (well, not failing smiley - tongueout Anyway, FF7 was definately worth all those wasted lessons...
