My favorite way to barbecue is to put an assortment of veggies (such as potatoes, corn, onions, mushrooms, peppers, etc.) and meat (such as chicken, sausage, or steak) on a sheet of tin foil. (Alternatively, you can leave the meat out for a vegetarian tin foil meal). The food needs to be cut into pieces preferably no thicker than half an inch thick. Seal up the tin foil around the food (easiest method is to fold the in foil over the food, then roll tin foil up around sides). Make the tin foil packet just loose enough that you can shake the food up a bit. Throw the whole packet on the BBQ, and roast it. End result is wonderful, largely because the juices of all the different foods have soaked into each others, making for a delightful marinade. The fact that it leaves no mess on the BBQ is also a happy thing.

No Barbecue is complete without Marshmallows, and when I was camping, we invented a Marshmallow game called "Marshmallow Wars"
Everyone has a marshmallow on a fork, held over a small fire so it's sticky. The idea is to position your fork onto everyone elses, and pick up some of their marshmallow so yours is the biggest, without anyone nicking yours.
It's as sticky as honey when it's hot, so that it moves onto different forks easily enough, and you also have to keep rotating the forks so it doesn't drip on the floor.
Believe me - a lot of fun.

Doesn't this sort of defeat the whole point of a BBQ? You know, the whole smoky charred taste. May as well wrap the food and stick it on a griddle or in the oven...

No barbecue is complete unless you go to the beach, dig a hole in the sand, and use driftwood as the supports for your fryingpans etc... Of course, that makes it far more interesting when they get alight.
Sand is an essential ingrediant for every barbecue meal.

Tricky when you're 3hours from the nearest sandy beach...
There are always golf course bunkers I suppose.
