Good Old Gil was also a cleaner at the Kwik-E-Mart in the episode where Apu has kids.

gil was also the salesman in the car lot where homer and marge hide naked in his hot air balloon and broke his little cooker (he only had one payment left!!)
and the sales guy in the doorbell shop where marge buys a "why do birds suddenly appear" doorbell while bart and homer are drivin big red's truck across the country!
he's also in the episode where marge becomes a real estate agent...
and many many more...

Have you noticed that he IS actually Jack Lemmon's character from 'Glengarry Glen Ross'? The same general appearance, desperate for a sale, even the same wheedling, pathetic voice.
