A Conversation for Electrical gadgetry to take on a winter sports holiday

Not to mention those gadgets with the sticker on the back saying "minimum operating temperature 20 degrees C"
(ok, so I exagerated a bit, and its unlikely to effect you in the temperatures you'd ski in, but its all i could think of ok!)

If you're the kind of person who skis into trees, then I'm not sure any amount of electrical gadgetry in your own pockets is going to improve your holiday.
On the other hand, you may be glad of the phone or walkie talkie the more competent person behind you is carrying...
And as regards temperature, it may be -10 outside, but as a number of lucky ladies will tell you, it's *considerably* hotter in my pants.

How about an air bag strapped to your chest?
It might have saved Sonny Bono a few years ago! I believe he was heard singing "I Got Yew Babe" just before the accident.

Hey, I've skied into a tree. Many years ago, granted, but sometimes even the best of us suffer from minor miscalculations.

to go back to the minimum temperature for a minute. There are also skiresorts in Northern Finland (and Sweden, norway and probably canada(though i've never been there), and here it is not unusual to go down to -20 C in winter. And even lower (until -40 and even -50,but then don't go skiing). And then minimum temperatures for equipment become an issue.

If your the type of (yuppie) person that needs to have all the electronic gadgetry with you, to be displayed publicly as you lounge about in the lodge rather than actually skiing, then it is quite probable that you are the type of person who skiis into trees...

Ah but I specifically excluded that kind of person, didn't I? I said leave the iPod at home and take a cheap solid state player, of the kind no yuppy would be seen dead with.
