I recall the BurmaShave sign seen in the US in the 60s. More recently I spotted one in a window photograph, shot by a Flicker photographer while he was holidaying in the US. see this link.

The Snow Cap!! That one is very high on my list of places to visit. And the photographer didn't even get some of the best signs!
Here's a full circle for you:
I became interested in Route 66 as the result of a conversation here on h2g2. I started researching it and ended up writing a whole University Project on it. I discovered lots of other things along the way, like the Coral Court Motel, Steak n Shake restaurants, the world's largest catsup bottle (which led to another entry on water towers in general) all of which also have entries now. I also discovered Burma Shave, and wrote this entry as my alter ego which was a Scout at the time and needed some credibility as a writer. And now we have a pic of a burma shave sign from route 66 to tie it all together
I've taken a couple of vacations on 66 since writing the entries, several in Missouri and Illinois, one trip through Oklahoma. Arizona is next on my list, and the Snow Cap is one of the reasons I want to go
