Georgie Peorgie, pudding and pie,
Kissed the girls and made them cry.
When the boys came out to play,
Georgie Peorgie ran away.

In this modern politically correct and socially tolerant world....
Georgie peorgie pudding and pie,
Kissed the girls, and made them cry,
When the boys came out to play,
He kissed them too, it made his day.

Seem to remember this was something to do with the future George IV, when Prince Regent. Any takers?

As far as I am aware, George was a nobleman who lived near York. He used to be a complete ladies man. After his death, his ghost is supposed to haunt a pub in York where in the ladies loo, some ghostly hands get very friendly!!
I have also heard that it was Prince George, along the same sort of lines....

Yup. That's what I was told, too. Scurrilous rhymes were very popular. The most recent example I can think of is
'Hitler has only got one ball,
Goering has two, but very small.
Himmler has something similar
but poor old Goebbels has no balls at all'
sung to (I think)Colonel Bogie in the second world war.
Actually, that gives me an idea ...

Definitely sung to Colonel Bogey. Although there may be a generation out there who know it better as the theme from the "Bridge over the River Kwai"
