Nah, I didn't bother going to Puck. IMHO it is but a sorry excuse for a p**sup. Not that I have anything against p**sups, you understandsmiley - winkeye, it's just that if I want to have a p**sup I only want my friends around...

Of course, I probably could be persuaded to go if it was absolutely vital I attended... smiley - smiley

not really. bin tied up wiv sch & boring stuff. went 2 a fair the other week, slightly better safety precautions than puck, tho still wiv rides that promote whiplash! some were v cool as well, esp bumper cars, love em!
hopefully more fun will occur in couple weeks wen its 1/2 term holidays smiley - biggrin

Hmmm. That doesn't sound very exciting, no. Although I have to agree on your assesment of bumper cars. they are really the only thing worth going on in most fairs around here. There are a few of the whiplash-inducing ones, but I find I got bored with most of themsmiley - erm
Count yourself lucky on the holiday front. I'll be doing very well if I get the bank holiday off for the Halloween weekend... And the next time I'm off after that is Christmas. Still, Once they do come around, I appreciate them so much more (and go absolutely mental as a result. Take this weekend just gone: Friday I was at a wedding, Sat I moved house, Sun was in Limerick and Shannon all day, and whenI came home there was a friend's birthday that went on until half two. Early, until you realise I had to get up at six this morning for work...)

Yawn...

Technically such a time DOESN'T exist. Except in the deluded minds of those who claim that "getting up early is good for you". Sick people... I am living proof of the fact that it isn'tsmiley - smiley

The weekend was fun alright. Just very, very tiring. I can still feel the effects today. Thought that might have something to do with the fact that I didn't go to sleep till after two. Seems to be habit forming, no?

What are you dressing up as for H?

Congrats on passing the first aid exam. I did a lifeguarding course a couple of years back, and had to go through all that (As well as swimming a few miles with and without clothes. Although not butt-naked, of course...smiley - bigeyes)

Which makes it all the more interesting (only if you're male, though...smiley - winkeye) It all depends on what time of year you try it. Late summer or early autumn is best, coz the water temperature is pretty good (by Irish standards anyway). I have done it in February, in the mouth of a river that came straight of a mountain with snow on it... I didn't last too long, as you can imagine. smiley - weird

Interesting is one word that could be used to describe the sensation... I came out smiley - blue. I had a Mars bar with me, and I couldn't actually get it open because a) my hands were shaking so much and b) I was completely numb, and couldn't even feel the thing in my hand!
And the pain when I finally warmed up again was excrutiating. Still, it was fun while it lasted...

Wetsuits are good, but they really restrict your movements when swimming. On the other hand, they do keep you afloat, which is nice toosmiley - winkeye

I haven't gone skinny dipping in ages either. don't know why. Lack of opportunity, I guess. Besides, it's not half as much fun on your ownsmiley - winkeye

Don't tell him! smiley - winkeye Well, that or ask his permission... smiley - tongueout

It is fun, but like I said, not on your own. Ah well.

On a different topic: I just had the most fantastic weekend! I went to Dublin to an dance event (the Winter Party) featuring Carl Cox, Sasha and John Digweed, as well as a few local DJs. My God! It was bloody amazing! I danced from just after six in the evening till half one the following morning, so you can imagine the state of my feet. Excellent music, great atmosphere, and a very nice girl (who contributed significantly to me having a great evening). Woohoo!

Any news your end?

I did indeed have a good time. Unfortunately, I'm still recovering, but it was worth it. I think I was so tired that I was an easy target for any passing cold virus, coz I now have a headache and that really stuffed up feeling you get when you get he flu or a cold. smiley - sadface

Holidays next week! Nice one. Hope you enjoy them (but it sounds like you wil...smiley - winkeye).

Maybe you could persuade your boyfriend to join you in skinny dipping? That kind of combines the best of both worlds, no? It's worth a shot...smiley - tongueout

Hmmmmm... Hot whiskey! Do you know that the best hot drink for this condition (or any other, for that matter smiley - winkeye) is in fact a hot Mead. It's made in exactly the same way as a hot whiskey (you know, lemon, hot water, cloves, but minus the sugar) only you substitute the Whiskey with Mead. It's not as alcoholic, but it tastes lovely, and still goes to your head pretty quick.

I am now completely incapable of talking, and it's now impossible to use the phone, as noone can actually understand me... bummer! Still, thank God for email! (or H2G2 for that mattersmiley - smiley)

Talk to you soon, gotta go back to work now smiley - blue
