h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Another one.

Some bloke goes all weird, you get a shot of his arms pumping blood about with veins and stuff and then *KA-POOF!* he turns into some animal or other.

Can't remember anything else about this one apart from the fact that he always seemed to end up tied to a post with some woman or other in every episode. Also recall him changing to a black panther (animal, not activist).

Thoughts anyone?

Yeah, I remember this one too. Simon MacCorkindale played "Manimal" (can't remember the character's name, but they never once referred to him AS 'Manimal', and who can blame them), and the "lurve" interest was -I think- the same woman who played Dale Arden in the 70s Flash Gordon movie. (Melody Anderson?) As far as I can remember, he could only change into two or three animals - the black panther, a hawk and er...something else?

I remember the theme tune clear as day though. How scary is THAT?

According to IMDB the characters name is Dr. Jonathan Chase and you are right about Melody Anderson (name Brooke) IMDB also states that Chase could change into _any_ animal. But I only remember the panther and the hawk. (I kind of liked the effects when he changed into the hawk).
