Think about it--if everyone who is supersticious has bad luck involving the number thirteen, then, to balence things out, those who aren't supersticious have to have good luck involving it.

Not only that, but there are thirten full moons during the year. I think the superstition came from the CHurch, to demonize Pagans, Witches, and Wiccans.
