Bandaids make you feel better, no matter what's wrong - a simple bandaid makes it allllll go away.

Band aids, no matter what there colour are pish for kitchen work (if they get damp they just fall off). Real men use a small wad of tissue paper, then wrap large quantities of blue electrical tape around it

And what about removing them?? Surely more needs to be written about that.
With small children especially, there is holy terror at the thought of removing a Band-Aid (which is capitalized due to its being a trademark of Johnson&Johnson) before it has fallen off. With my kids, I've found the best method is to apply some rubbing alcohol to the adhesive part of the Band-Aid and it just give up of its own accord, getting rid of the need for the quick pull on two when you're counting to three!

With that "I'm gonna count to three..." bit, I remember that my mother would always surprise us on which number she'd pull on. I guess she thought that while we were busy being surprised that it hurts on 2 1/2 instead of 3 that we would forget that it hurt as much. I guess it worked alright.

In my personal experience with bandaids, they have either fallen off in the manner described or when wet, or through age (their's, not mine) when they can just slide off.
But whatever method, the same problem then ensues - a sticky white outline of the plaster, reminding you of its existence, like the chalk outline around a dead body...
