A Conversation for Ecstasy - the drug
pathetically outmoded slang section mate..

I'm sorry mate but this sounds like the DEA meating in Hunter Thompson's Fear and Loathing. The terminology section sounds like it's been lifted from a drug education pamphlet. It's worth noting that, the counterculture being the crucible of new lexicography that it is, a list of pill terminology is unlikely to remain accurate for long and is also subject to geographical variation, but some of this definitely requires clarification:
Adam, Discobiscuits, E, X, XTC, (and the British: Gurners, pills, etc) are generic terms for ecstacy, whilst Apples, Mitsubishis, Diamonds, armanis, snowballs, macdonalds, ferraris etc are all specifics, refering to the stamp of the manufacturing lab.
It is also worth noting that whilst these stamps used to mean a specific manufacturer and could be used to guage pill quality, the modern lab operates on an 'any stamp any colour' policy and people telling you that the green speckled mitsis are hectic today means very little in real terms.
whilst dropping is an obvious one for consumption of any oral drug, further variations include boshing, necking , and let us not forget bombing (wrapping mashed ecstacy in a rizla and dropping it straight down, avoiding taste issues), and the slightly unpleasent 'crush n snort' approach.
It's worth noting that 'peepers' is not in commmon parlance in the UK and people will ask you what you're on about. More viable are 'pillheads' gurnmonsters, eyes (as in, look at eyes over there what's he 'ad?)
Piggybacking - this is a generic used more commonly by 'serious' drug experimenters trying to push their experiences a lot further than the average raver. have a look at www.erowid.org for piggybacking information.
sorry

That came across as well didactic now i read it back. Should have looked a bit harder and edited more carefully. To be honest I found the main body of the article a bit preachy and it had the overly-distanced veneer of being written and researched by someone who has never used the drug. I think i was reacting to that. The information contained within is well researched and laid out to be sure, i just think that maybe collaboration with an ecstacy user would have added another dimension.
sorry once again for my arrogant tone. peace n love
sorry

"sorry once again for my arrogant tone"
Not to worry: justified criticism, whether positive or negative, is always useful.
I did try to get some input from other researchers who had used it and some offsite users' accounts but I believe they were an addition rather than an original part of the piece.
As for the tone, I was trying to keep it scientific and objective which requires a bit of distance keeping, and I apologise if that comes across as preachy, it's just I thought that would be the best way to do it.
Slang is mutable and changes constantly by its very nature -- were I to update it, it'd be out of date just as soon. Perhaps instead to leave out the slang section altogether in future articles I may write would be an idea.
Key: Complain about this post
