Those involved in a love-hate relationship with their Volvo should take a look at Trevanian's book _Shibumi_, in which he discusses the origin and practice of the sport of Volvo-bashing.

Have you read Terry Pratchett? In "Reaper Man" he writes about someone "...whose only" relation (or something like that, I don't remember the quote exactly) "to the cycles of nature was when his Volvo once ran over a sheep". Incidentally, volvo is latin for "I'm rolling".

Will Self has a big thing for Volvos. I saw in a documentary on him that he owns one, but in an anti-advertising protest move, he has removed *all* of the volvo badges, even down to angle grinding the name off of the cylinder head. In his compilation of short stories 'Tough, tough toys for the tough tough boys', he writes a story about a sales rep travelling the country in his Volvo.

So now you know...

An improvement on the standard de-badge (which I had done to mine because I got a 2.5 20v SE when I should have had a 2.0 - BWahahahahaha!)
