We've just had to give the last rites to our beloved K reg Subaru Legacy Estate (170K) . Spares were so expensive and so hard to come by, we just couldn't help it in its last illness.

SO - we need a reliable, sturdy, big-back-area estate. Most of our driving is on A/B roads, motorways about twice a month, but 80-100 miles a day is quite usual.

We have a very low budget (£2500 max, but lower if possible), so of course we're looking at Volvos - BUT - SO MANY MODELS THAT ALL LOOK THE SAME FROM THE OUTSIDE!

Is there a comparison site anywhere (and I must stress, we're not looking for new) or could any owners please advise? We know it'll be fuel-hungry but heard somewhere that the 70's are better than others???
