Don't know if this has already been said, but Jose Cuervo is generally recognized as the best--or at least most used--brand in the US.

Just because it is the most used does not mean it is the best ... take U.S. Budweiser for example .. call that (or is it) beer?
Anyway - The top end Jose Cuervo tequilas are excellent. The low end ones used commonly are not very good, and are rather pricey for what they are. The best ones they make are not so commonly available. I have seen them sold in California outside of Mexico. I saw Their special family reserve in San Jose a few weeks ago - I had only seen it sold in Mexico before.. Excellent stuff, like a fine Armagnac (Mexican style).
