One of the tips I remember reading about was this easy way to impress your friends - order Burgundy with fish.
The immediate response should be a cry of disbelief - 'you ordered red wine with the fish?'
Whereupon you put on your best snob face and say, with dignity: 'It's a *white* Burgundy!' Obviously, such a thing exists...
But, as the author comments, you might not have many friends left after a trick like that
