Did Ruben and the Jets get a CD release prior to the FZ official CD (which is truly dreadful with horrid drums and bass parts(i think Ryko should mention this on the sleeve If it was available do you have record cat; no;

I don't have the record but it is true that Frank went in and remixed the drum and bass parts with the original players except years later. As far as I know there are no original Ruben and the Jets CD's out there unless they are bootlegs. When the CD releases were put out they included some extra music that was cut out of the original vinyl releases as on Hot Rats, but if you think this sounds horrible then I suppose you wouldn't be interested. thanks for the info .i've bought the autourised version but still find the bass and drums to forward in the mix.cant understand why he didn't re-master from the vinyl

I think the official story was that the original master tapes were in such bad condition, FZ had no choice but to re-record the bass and drum parts.
