How curious that the Chinese never noticed the bush in the preceeding 5000 years! It's a good thing the French Catholics came along and pointed it out to the rest of us...

It's an even better thing that Spanish Catholics 'discovered' the New World... It must have been a terrible strain for the millions of people who had to go about the business of building their own cultures with nowhere to stand.
