The floor tiles for the Nostromo were also eventually used in the Alien War experiences.
The scenes of the astronauts walking toward the Boneship was done by using the directors children in small scale suits on a small scale set to save money on production costs. Because they forgot to hook up any air supply the children all passed out.
All the adult actors that had to wear the spacesuits suffered the same problem, no air supply which made them pass out.
The boneship set was hand painted by H.R. Geiger himself, he was flown over specially to do it.
Ripley's character was originally going to be played by a man.

There's always more facts and triva that can be added to an entry, i find you have to find a cut off point before the whole thing gets bogged down.
Maybe i'll do a directors cut of the entry with loads more triva in it.
