smiley - laugh Yeah. I guess it depends on what Landis' B test says, I really can't see him being THAT stupid to take drugs on stage 17 like that

The problem for Landis is if it's a natural body testosterone or a medicinal side-effect from one tablet a day for his thyroid problem or from his cortisone treatment for his hip injury it would show up in all his drug tests with a consistent value wouldn't it?

He had at least 6 tests during the tour, according to one report, and it obviously didn't show up in those. It only showed up on the day of that amazing hussar ride. smiley - erm That's a big problem for Landis.

I do not wish to jump to conclusions but I the phrase "testosterone patch" was been mentioned almost as an off-hand remark by one pundit; unfortunately can't remember whom.

Back in 2 or 3 weeks. Taking the old bike to the mountains for a spin!smiley - smiley

Have fun. According to one of the cycling commentators that was interveiwed, it could have been caused naturally because he was angry with himself and his team and god only knows who else the day of his bad ride, that produces testosterone too

Jon Koilegi a Kenyan just beat me (well, beat me and 517 others out of sight actually) in a trail race around a lake. I confess I was half-doped - after-effects of 2 x smiley - ale last night! Just wait till they give those Kenyans and Ethiopians some bikes to ride then we won't need to worry about Yanks with testosterone! smiley - winkeye
I recently saw a news item on CNN that said much American beef had lots of steroids in it - quite worrying really.

I believe the official result on Landis' specimen was like this

Normal male level 1.5
Max. Tour de France allowable 4.0
Landis after his hussar ride 11.0

Would need to eat quite a lot of burgers!smiley - winkeye

I still can't believe he was that stupid. there's an interesting article on Eurosport.com about how Landis is the 3rd of Lance Armstrong's 'Leiutenants' to be tested positive for doping, Hamilton, Heras and now Landis

I see on CNN that all the riders entered for the Spanish Tour have been given the all clear! Well that's something.

I'm not surprised, only a complete idiot would risk riding while doped now

After the Vuelta and the World Champs in Salzburg Eurosport will be televising the Tour of Poland.

Saturday bought a book of short stories by Yann Martel called The Facts Behind the Helsinki Roccamatios. Don't think it's smutty but will let you know.
Have missed a couple of days of La Vueleta. Hope to catch up tomorrow.
