I'm surpised you didn't mention anything about cooking spinach (although I may have missed it). I find if you try boiling it you end up with a pile of grit, even though you washed it loads of times. The best way of cooking spinach is buying the pre-packed stuff from T*sc*, pierce a few holes in the bag and stick it in the microwave for a few mins.

I thought Popeye loved spinach, but then it has been a long time since I watched Popeye...

actually I steam or stir-fry my fresh spinach (unless I'm making salad) and for creamed spinach... well, I buy this funky frozen stuff, which is delivered to my door. It's frozen in handy little blocks which are shaped.
