A Conversation for Spinach - The Truth
"It's Broccoli, dear."
Steve K. Started conversation Jun 9, 2006
Many years ago, New Yorker Magazine had a cartoon with a mother telling her child at dinner, "It's broccoli, dear." The child replies, "I say it's spinach, and I say the hell with it."
The latter line has become a useful quote in political discourse, basically meaning "don't confuse me with the facts." This line probably gets used a lot at Bush cabinet meetings, if anyone is so reckless as to disagree with Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, etc., e.g. "invading Iraq will lead to grief, there are no WMD's ..."

If you really do a T-shirt, this layout might work:

The image could be a simplified cartoon of broccoli.
I'll buy one.
